Merry Christmas to all of my followers - new and old! I have had an amazing two days with my family. This is the first time in 5 years that my Mom's side of the family was able to get together. We hosted at our house and even though it was a little stressful, it was all worth it. The food was delicious and the time with family was amazing. A good time was had by all!
This morning was so much fun. Our daughter is 2 and she really seemed to understand Christmas this year. She was excited that Santa came to visit and she couldn't wait to get into her presents. We decided to do something that I had found on Pinterest.
You give 4 main gifts. Something you want. Something you need. Something you wear. Something you read. I often feel that Christmas is too commercialized and this brings us back down to Earth! :) Of course, she still receives gifts from Santa and from other family members, but this is going to be a new tradition for us. Here are some before and after pictures.
Christmas Morning |
We also had cupcakes with bright, red frosting for breakfast! Only on Christmas! :)
The best gift of all - the box that her kitchen set came in! :)
Now... onto the part you have been waiting for... I'm holding a giveaway for 3 prizes. The first prize is a $10 gift certificate to Teachers Pay Teachers. The other 2 prizes are for $15 to spend in my TpT store. You can enter the raffle-copter below to win!

DeleteI got this really cute charm necklace. It's extra special because the charm was from a charm bracelet my great aunt wore where each charm had a special meaning for her. This year she broke up the bracelet and all the girls got a necklace with a charm on it as a keepsake.

Jennifer, it makes gift giving so much easier. She will always know what to expect and we'll always be prepared! Plus, there is always room for interpretation on what each part means to you. :)
DeleteMy best gift was sent from my former son-in-law and his new wife. They sent me our 7 year old grandson's second grade picture and a photo in his football team outfit. They, also, made sure he called us on Christmas night. This was a very special gift as we do not have a relationship with our daughter and she does not feel the need for our little guy to be a part of our lives.
ReplyDeleteThat is a true gift. I hope that you will be able to continue to have that special contact. Every child needs his/her grandparents! :)
DeleteHey!! My husband made a donation in my name to help a young girl in India (that was rescued from the sex trade) to learn a trade and go to school...then he bought me a couple of illustrated children's books...love that man!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat was your favourite gift?
Blessings,
Tammie

That is such an amazing gift. Not just for you, but for the young girl as well. My favorite gift was my new camera and having my whole family together for Christmas. Thanks for asking!
DeleteI received the gift of time! I have slept and worked on things at my own pace! I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! If only we could truly bottle it up and save it for later. :)
DeleteMy favorite gift was a green ceramic bird from my daughter. I like birds, and she always gets me some kind of "bird gift" for every holiday. It is really special that she always remembers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

That is very special. I'll bet you have quite the collection. :)
DeleteMy favorite present was from my hubby-he got me four Folkmanis puppets for my classroom! They're amazing!!! Three of them were penguins (my favorite) and a squirrel (which has become a joke between myself and the other kinder teachers because we "squirrel" all the time and get off task!haha!!) Happy New Year and CONGRATS on the success of your blog!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely have to check those out. I've never heard of them before. :) I also love the squirrel comment... that is so me with one of my co-workers. We have adjoining rooms and are often off task!
DeleteMy favorite was having everyone here to spend the day together. dbednarsk@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the most wonderful part of Christmas... :)
DeleteMy husband and I usually don't buy each other big gifts because we have 5 kiddos to spoil, usually its just pjs, fuzzy socks or cute earrings, but this year he bought me a laptop because I am starting to do more presentations! I love that he thought about this and saved up for months to get me something I really needed!
ReplyDeleteJennifer @ Herding Kats in Kindergarten
That is so thoughtful! He sounds like a great guy! :)
DeleteMy favorite gift is rather strange. We have a 10 year old cat who became very ill, and we were not sure he was going to live. Our vet called on Christmas Eve to let us know that he was going to be OK. We have him home now (8 days and $275 later). We will have to kennel him for another 6 weeks, but he is home, and he is going to make it. That's the best gift I could have asked for. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think that is strange at all. Our dogs are a huge part of our family, so I totally get it! I'm so glad to hear that he will be OK. :)
DeleteMy necklaces and bracelets!! They are sooo pretty!!
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun to get something that sparkles! :)
DeleteMy favorite gift this year was a book binding machine.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I am so jealous! I would love to have my own. The one at the school is always being used by someone else. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteIt is hard to pick just one, isn't it? They all sound wonderful! :)
